The time has finally arrived. Potential sponsors will now start receiving an invitation email from IRCC that will allow them to bring their parents or grandparents to Canada as permanent residents.

IRCC started sending out invitations on September 20th, 2021 and will continue to do so until October 7th, inviting 30,000 sponsors in a span of three weeks.

Invitations will come from CIC.CPCMississaugaDoNotReply-CTDMississaugaNePasRepondre.CIC@cic.gc.ca and the subject in the email will be “Parents and Grandparents Program Invitation / L’invitation à présenter une demande dans le cadre du Programme des parents et des grands-parents – CPCM / CTDM“.

To be considered for this invitation, you must have submitted an interest to sponsor form to the IRCC between October and November in the previous year. You must be at least 18 years of age and be either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident in Canada or be a status First Nations.

If you receive an invitation, you must submit your sponsorship application within the 60 day period. Make sure that you submit your application before the deadline or else your application will be returned to you. In some cases, invitation emails go to the promotion or spam folder so it is important to check all folders within your email.
